ThinkPad T430 — UltraBay caddy, optical drive included

Available

Ivy Bridge platform, free boot firmware, and an UltraBay fitted with a SATA caddy — a second drive goes in there, and the original optical drive ships with the machine if you would rather put it back.

Original TN panel, no IPS mod. This is the base build: the full floor, no options.

PROVISIONAL PRICE. €250 assumes a battery at 80 % or above. After measuring: 60–79 % → €230 · 40–59 % → €210 · under 40 % → €190. Correct it here, on the French page, in both indexes and on the Stripe link before publishing.

Actual specification of this machine

TO RECORD ON THE MACHINE before publishing — commands are in INVENTORY.md: serial number, type, exact CPU model, memory configuration, SSD brand and model, SMART (reallocated sectors, power-on hours), coreboot version, Wi-Fi card, installed system, keyboard layout, chassis condition.

Intel MENeutered: partition cut to the minimum by me_cleaner, ME disabled at boot
Wireless[TO RECORD] — lspci -nn | grep -i network
System shipped[TO CONFIRM] — Debian stable with full-disk encryption per the published floor
KeyboardSix-row — layout and wear to describe
Chassis[TO DESCRIBE] — marks, hinge play, missing parts

The honest wording on the Intel ME: me_cleaner cuts the Management Engine partition down to the minimum the platform needs to boot, and disables it. It does not remove it — that is impossible on this platform. Any listing claiming full removal is wrong.

Battery, measured

MEASUREMENT MISSING. Charge three full cycles, then read energy_full and energy_full_design. Put the percentage here, in the heading, in the .bar > i.pNN class and in the price calculation. Until that number exists, this page does not go live.
[XX] %

[XX] Wh measured against [XX] Wh design capacity, [XX] cycles on the counter. Original battery.

Runtime observedRoughly 3 h in ordinary use — an order of magnitude seen, to be refined after measurement

For €50 more, a new battery from the 45N10xx family goes in instead and capacity returns to 100 %. Tick the option at checkout.

Observed runtime is an order of magnitude seen on this machine, not a contractual promise. The measured capacity is the number that counts.

What was replaced, and what was not

TO COMPLETE with this machine's real history: what was changed in the workshop, what was kept, and why. The "kept" column is what carries the credibility — do not empty it.
