Your rights
Warranty, withdrawal, breakdown
These rights are not a commercial gesture: they apply because you are buying from a registered professional seller. They are restated on every invoice.
Durabo sells from France, so French consumer law applies as the baseline described here. If you buy from elsewhere in the European Union, the mandatory protections of your own country of residence apply on top and are never reduced by this page. Where wording differs, the French version is the reference.
Legal guarantee of conformity
The legal guarantee of conformity runs for 2 years from delivery (articles L. 217-3 and following of the French Consumer Code).
For second-hand goods, the presumption runs for 12 months: any lack of conformity appearing within a year of delivery is presumed to have existed at the time of delivery, without you having to prove it. Between 12 and 24 months the guarantee still applies, but the burden of proving the defect pre-existed falls on you.
Where there is a lack of conformity, you choose between repair and replacement. If neither is possible, or neither happens within a reasonable time, you can obtain a price reduction or cancellation of the sale with a refund.
Nothing is charged to you: not parts, not labour, not return shipping where the defect is accepted.
Like-for-like replacement is rarely possible: each machine is a one-off. In practice repair comes first, and refund if repair fails.
Hidden-defects guarantee
Separately from the above, the hidden-defects guarantee applies (articles 1641 and following of the French Civil Code). It covers defects not visible at purchase that make the machine unfit for its purpose or seriously reduce its usefulness.
A claim must be brought within 2 years of discovering the defect. It entitles you either to return the machine for a refund, or to a price reduction.
Withdrawal — 14 days, no reason needed
As a distance sale, you have 14 days from delivery to withdraw, without justification and without penalty (article L. 221-18 of the French Consumer Code).
How
- Email contact@durabo.net before the 14 days are up. One sentence is enough; the form below is optional.
- Send the machine back within the following 14 days, in its original packaging or equivalent, with its charger.
- The refund is issued within 14 days of the machine being received back, by the same payment method.
Return shipping
Return costs are yours when withdrawing without a reason. Budget €10–15 by tracked Colissimo from France, more from elsewhere in the EU. If the return is due to a defect, Durabo covers it.
Condition of the machine on return
You may open the machine, try it, install a different operating system: that is what the 14 days are for. You are only liable for depreciation resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature and proper functioning of the machine — a cracked screen or a torn-off hinge, for instance.
Wiping the drive and installing your own system reduces nothing: the drive is securely erased on return anyway.
Model withdrawal form
Copy and send this only if you wish to withdraw.

If the machine breaks
The procedure is the same whether or not the fault is covered. What changes is who pays.
- Write. contact@durabo.net, with the machine reference (DUR-0XX) and a description of the symptom. A photo or a short video helps.
- Remote diagnosis first. A fair share of faults are fixed without sending anything back: power controller reset, reflash from a live system, a reseated memory stick. It is free and it is usually faster.
- Return to the workshop if needed. A prepaid return label is sent when the fault is covered by the guarantee.
- Repair. Parts for sold models are kept in the workshop. Expect a few working days once the machine arrives.
- Return or refund. If repair is not possible, the sale is cancelled and you are refunded.
What is on you
A drop, spilled liquid, a power surge, or a strip-down that tore a cable are not conformity defects. Those repairs are still offered, but charged: parts at cost plus a flat labour fee, quoted before any work starts.
After the guarantee
Support does not stop after two years. A machine that left the workshop can come back for repair at parts cost plus labour, for as long as the parts exist. That is the point of a ThinkPad from this generation: they still do.
The factory BIOS dump for your machine is kept. If you ever want to go back to the original Lenovo firmware, it is yours on request.
